DESCRIPTION

In association with our play, The Crackwalker, which looks at the lives of the permanently unemployable in our society, we are conducting interviews with locals to help generate a broad picture of the plays themes. The characters of the play include the under-employed, the mentally challenged and the intellectually disabled. The character of Theresa is ID and has a devoted boyfriend in Alan, who wants nothing more than to be a father. This is an interview with Registered Nurse Pat Schwiebert.  She has a long history of work with bereavement, the homeless and the intellectually disabled. Here she shares the story of a young mother who she took into her home when she had nowhere to go after giving birth to a baby. We are grateful to those who will share their stories for the betterment of our community understanding.
